Community meals are almost always on the first and third Fridays of each month except for the summer when they are once a month. The meal is served at 6pm. We ask sponsors to arrive no later than 5:30pm to set up the meal. Sponsors are asked to bring all items necessary for the meal including paper goods, ice, drinks, food, etc. We suggest bringing enough food for 30 neighbors plus the sponsoring volunteers/families. The meal begins with set up. Neighbors will help to serve the meal. Sponsors are asked to join in eating and fellowshipping with neighbors. After we’ve eaten and had time to hang out, we’ll clean up together. Community Meals typically last until 7:30pm. This includes the clean up time. If the weather is nice, the meal will be outside. If not, we’ll go indoors. Once sponsors have unloaded supplies, they are encouraged to park in the gravel parking lot across from the Parkway house or in the Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center parking lot.
