A note to Freedom School Volunteers

Freedom School, how you feelin’?

Fantastic! Terrific! Great all day long!

Thanks to all of you who volunteered with The Family Tree Freedom School this summer. It has been a full 6 weeks of reading, learning, enrichment, and fun!

Our scholars will be sharing what they learned at the great big

Freedom School FINALE! on

Wednesday, July 30th at 11am.

It would be great if you could come and cheer them on! We would be honored if you would choose to attend. (3105 Tuckaseegee Rd.) Please contact Helms if you can bring a dish to share: iamhelmsie@gmail.com

All FINALE guests are encouraged to bring a pot-luck dish to share. After the performance, we will enjoy lunch together.

Site Clean up days are July 31 and August 1st from 9am-3pm. Volunteers and interns will be working to clean our site, organize and store our supplies. If you have time, please consider helping lend a hand. We will need cleaners, handy-repair type folks, organizers, and drivers to take things to The Family Tree and to storage.

Again, we are truly grateful for your contribution to our scholars and to the Freedom School Program. Recently, Greg wrote an article about our Freedom School Program for the Associated Baptist Press. You may be interested in reading it and sharing it with others. Click here to read the article.

You helped to transform lives through the gift of service.

For that, we thank you!
