We choose to explore many ways of creating through the arts such as art lessons, workshops, projects, performances, and exploration. We work towards weaving creativity into the fabric of our family life and shared spaces. We are thrilled to partner with area artists who empower and inspire us with new skills and beautiful artwork.
In January 2014, local artist Cindy Cooper, hosted our first art lessons- a four hour workshop for The Family Tree young people. She taught the youth skills in water color, pastels, acrylic, and clay. After a full day of art making, the youth were energized and asked to have another workshop very soon. Two of our youth have been appointed as leaders in planning our youth arts endeavors. Their goal is to plan one art-making activity or experience per month. We are in the process of seeking out artists who may like to engage with youth and/or adults in the creative arts.
